Jericho Madden is the late twin brother of Constantine Madden.
History[]
Jericho and Constantine were born in Europe, where chaos mages are killed. At one point, their mother, under the name Anastasia Tarquin, migrated to North America with them.
The twins eventually attended the Magisterium, where they were chosen as apprentices by Master Rufus, along with Alastair Hunt and the Novak siblings Sarah and Declan.[1]
When it was discovered that his brother Constantine was a Makar, Master Joseph persuaded him to become his brother's counterweight. However, being his counterweight in addition to the chaos magic experiments his brother and his master performed took a toll on him.[2] It turned out that every time Constantine used chaos magic, he was using a shred of Jericho's soul,[3] and this eventually killed him. After his death, Constantine became obsessed with trying to find a way to bring him back, particularly through necromancy through more chaos magic—earning him the title Enemy of Death.[2]
