Lucas is a Devoured of water that Call and his schoolmates recruit to help destroy Alex Strike. He inhabits Niagara Falls, in a secluded part Call points out may not be visible to humans. He was in Alastair's year when he attended the Magisterium.
Despite being a Devoured, he still cares about people –he tests the worthiness of his visitors by making them save an apparent child from drowning– and is easily convinced to join the fight against Alex.
